Project: RFID Journal's Website

Description:

We were part of a team of developers responsible for maintaining and upgrading the campanion website to the RFID Journal magazine. Most recently, we streamlined the order creation and simultanous user creation process. We also created the shopping cart system, and the custom url system that allows editors to create short unique urls that can be used to track the effectiveness of their own marketing campaigns.

Description:

We created this database driven website from the ground up. This includes database design and normalization, complete article publishing system, new recruit management, and CAPTCHA to limit spam.

Project: Email Marketing App

Description:

We were brought on as part of a team of developers responsible for building version 2.0 of this already successful email marketing application. Users can manage multiple lists of subscribers, manage email message templates and merge them together into well tuned email marketing campaigns. We were responsible for the inital email message creation process.


Project: RFQ Tracking System

Description:

Created a RFQ Tracking system that tracks all business opportunities in which our client may be interested. This system reduced the average labor time for preparing a quote from hours, down to 15 minutes. With this system and the same number of employees, our client has been able to increase the number of completed quotes from about 30 a week to over 300 a week. As a result of this increase in productivity many other departments of this company have increased their staff to keep up. Please check out the video demonstration of this project.

Project: Prospect Web Spider
Industry: Commercial Insurance
Description:

Developed a web spider for a commercial insurance brokerage. This client had previously spent hundreds of hours looking up information on potiential clients on the web. A web spider was created to automate this task. This spider collected information by reading specific web pages, then submitted searches based upon those initial findings. Once this spider completed its assigned task, our client was given a comprehensive database of over 200,000 potential customers. With their contact and industry specific information, our client was able to query this database to instantly look for customers that meet specific criteria.


Project: Electronic Web-based Library Card Catalog

Description:

A comprehensive library database was created to allow any employee to quickly determine whether or not the document they were looking for was in the hundreds of thousands of documents in this library. All technical documents, no matter how they are stored, (paper, microfilm, electronic, etc) are searchable in this one database. Before this project it took the company's technical librarian 10 to 15 minutes to determine if they had a particular document. Now, in many cases, the librarian can determine whether or not they have a document in only seconds. Due to the fact this project was web based, it's data was also integrated into various other systems within the company. For example, if an emplyee were to view a RFQ, they would see the part number in bold if that document was already in the database. The computer searched the library in the background so the user can make an informed decision more quickly than before.


Project: Customer Portal

Description:

We created a customer portal that handles common customer service tasks previously handled manually. Not only can customers login and manage aspects of their account, they can also manage users for their account. All actions are logged so users within a company can see who completed specific actions. This system has increase productivity while also limiting the submission errors by customers.

Features include:

  • Strict user permission system. This user permission system is quick to set up yet allows for precise and detailed permission schemes. Control down to every action within the system allows for the most complicated permission schemes.
  • Fully automated user utilities including: change password, forgot password (automatically resets to randomly generated password), email address verification system, forgot username utility.
  • Automated PDF generation. PDF documents are generated in real time for submission through the proper channels.
  • Automated email notifications. Email notifications are sent to proper recipients when further action is required. Messages are multipart MIME encoded, and often include attachments.
